I guess it depends on what you want out of the game. Use this to your advantage to create missions/mansions/big parks rich people areas then make small country homes with smaller parks and tavern areas. You can place 2 buildings right next to each other without hindering movement. The best thing to do is to place police stations and newspapers around the edges and I think clinics and restuarants look really good in the middle. You do not need to encompass every building with roads! You can then make a road that will connect that area to the rest of island. basically any building that doesn't require an actual road connection to turn on. Then place restaurants/pubs/clinics religious buildings/etc. So for example place 6 parks together to make 1 big park. You know those parks with paths? Well Tropicans will walk through those areas to get somewhere.īasically what you want to do is make a bunch of parks. So use this to your benefit.įirst, buildings/houses have tiny built in "walking" areas that your Tropicans actually use. Well with Tropico your houses don't need to connect to your roads.
That's how the usual city building game goes. So I am pretty sure your playstyle revolves around placing houses next to roads and making everything into squares.
